A
new look, a new name with joyful service still the
focus. Clowns Serving Christ Ministry (CSCM) is
proud to introduce its updated name and logo.
Following a traditional business model the troupe
has registered its trade name with the Secretary of
State of Ohio. By doing this the troupe hopes to
clearly identify the group and its mission.
The bright clown cross logo with five clowns was
designed for the troupe by a talented friend who has
illustrated Children’s Books. Hyla Skudder of
Westerville developed the clown cross after looking
at the troupe’s scrapbook of activities. “I wanted
to focus on the gift of laughter with the design,”
Hyla noted. For ten years she was a designer at the
Boston Children’s Museum in Massachusetts, designing
exhibitions and curriculum materials on a wide range
of subjects. Her publication credits include six
books on wildflower gardening and a children’s
nature book titled “Whose Tracks Are These? A
Clue Book of Familiar Forest Animals.”
As the troupe’s logo, the clown cross is copyrighted
material and the troupe asks interested parties to
request permission before publication in either
print or electronic media.
Clowns Serving Christ Ministry was formed in 1999
when two high school friends reconnected to share a
common interest in magic and fun. In 2006 the
troupe’s name was changed to reflect its focus as
Christian Clowns wanting to share the joy of the
gospel.
